Brian’s crazy idea...

My Goal: I'm gearing up for an exciting adventure! In April, I'll be hitting the road in an RV, embarking on four consecutive Bike MS rides across the Southeastern US. My journey will take me through Louisiana, Florida, Houston, and Dallas/Fort Worth. I'll be covering approximately 1,250 miles—120 miles per week in training rides and 100-150 miles during each of the four Bike MS weekends.

About Me: Cycling has been a lifelong passion, reignited in adulthood when a friend introduced me to Bike MS rides. The thrill of speed, long distances, and the pure pedal power experience exhilarates me. Through cycling, I've forged lasting friendships, explored amazing places, and conquered new challenges.

Why Bike MS: In 2019, I joined the Meat Fight Bike MS team and found an incredible sense of family.  When the opportunity came along to challenge myself to do 4 back-to-back events it sparked my desire to raise awareness about MS, hopefully inspire others to ride, and give back (even if in my own small way). Bike MS events perfectly blend my love for cycling with the mission of supporting those with MS and finding a cure.

What is MS: Multiple sclerosis is a disease that impacts the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.  It causes unpredictable symptoms such as numbness, tingling, mood changes, memory problems, pain, fatigue, blindness and/or paralysis. Everyone’s experience with MS is different and these losses may be temporary or long lasting.  You can learn more about MS here: https://www.nationalmssociety.org/What-is-MS.

My Route: I'll be participating in MS rides in Hammond, LA (4/6-7); Lakewood Ranch, FL (4/20); College Station, TX (4/27-28); and Dallas, TX (5/4-5). During the weekend in April without an MS ride, I'll be taking on the L'Etape race in San Antonio, TX. I'll also incorporate two training rides each week along my journey through TX, LA, MS, AL, and FL during the weeks of April 14th and April 21st.

Beneficiaries: Money donated to my Bike MS ride is tax-deductible and matched by many employers.  These donations fund groundbreaking research – like developing new disease-modifying therapies – to get us closer to a cure. These donations also support National Multiple Sclerosis Society resources, programs and services that give people affected by MS what they need to live their best lives.  In addition, any donations toward my travel costs that exceed actual expenses will be donated to Meat Fight.  Meat Fight uses these funds for their mission to support people with multiple sclerosis with endurance training equipment. Meat Fight covers coaching for Ironman events, marathons, and bike equipment to take on long-distance bike rides like Bike MS.

How You Can Help: I invite everyone to join in supporting the causes, organizations, and events associated with these rides. Spread the word, follow my progress, cheer me on, donate, and consider joining me on the rides. Dust off that bike and let's hit the road together!
